Robert Davis and Michael Langlois are both graduates of the School of the Art Institute in Chicago. Known as Davis/Langlois, they have been working together ever since they met at SAIC. Employing classical and diverse media such as watercolor, graphite, oil, and bronze, they subvert the language of common objects and pop culture.

“Collaborative work raises issues of authorship, authenticity and originality. It allows our dialogue to influence the work; it gets rid of the notion of the singular artist working in solitude, and erases the ego. Our vocabulary is derived from popular and sub cultures and is mixed with contemporary painting/sculpture ideals and classical techniques...”
